At De Pollensehoeve retirement home, we offer horses a stable, peaceful environment where well-being and daily care are central. Both older horses and horses recovering from an injury are welcome here. We always look at what a horse needs physically and mentally. No two horses are the same, which is why we tailor our care as much as possible to the individual animal.
Attentive daily care.
No long-term commitments.
24/7 webcams in the stables.
The horses stay in spacious stables with a healthy indoor climate and have the opportunity to move freely every day. We offer group housing, paddocks, and individual boxes. Mares and geldings graze in mixed herds, provided this suits the horse. When extra rest or individual care is required, horses can be housed separately.
Movement plays a vital role in our retirement home. That is why the horses have free turnout between the stable, paddock, and — during the summer season — the pasture. In the winter months, the horses have access to the paddocks. During the grazing season, suitable horses can remain outside day and night. We always monitor physical condition, health, and group dynamics. Regular exercise and social contact keep horses fitter and reduce the risk of stable vices.
DE POLLENSEHOEVE OFFERS PERSONAL ATTENTION TO EVERY HORSE
We observe the horses daily and closely monitor any changes in behavior, condition, and health. In case of any concerns, we will always contact you. This way, we offer not just a place to stay, but a home where horses can grow old or recover with peace, attention, and expert care.
